20th Birthday Celebration!
Clay House celebrated it’s 20th year being located in the Historical Mac Clay House!
As a birthday gift we would like a new computer program! Our Birthday cake of course has 20 candles, with every $500 received in donations we will “light” a candle. When all the candles are lit we will have reached our goal of $10,000 to upgrade our computer programs.
We acquired our current program “CARES” computer system used to collect and retain all Clay House client information in 1998. Our goal is to generate the funds needed to replace that system with updated, more reliable technology. To date, we have received $3,500 of the needed $10,000. Make a contribution today to help insure the Clay House can obtain the technology necessary to support our professionals as they care for sexually and physically abused children in the community.
In 95% of child abuse cases, perpetrators must be prosecuted based only on circumstantial evidence (e.g. information disclosed by the young victim). Without the specially trained forensic interviews conducted at the Clay House, skilled defense attorneys would be far more likely to undermine the successful prosecution of abuse perpetrators. So, while the skill of our professionals and the child-friendly surroundings of Clay House help to minimize the child’s post-abuse trauma, the most important service the Clay House provides is the evidence necessary to insure that the perpetrator will never again be able to hurt the young victim. Our tracking system is a crucial part of this process.
